So I have applied to US medical schools and did not get in? what should I do now?

1. Should I keep reapplying for the 6th time to US medical schools?

Well, if you truly want to fulfill your dreams of becoming a physician, option 3 should not be on your mind, no matter how discouraging it is.
Many US grads are opting for the route but you must be very careful and do extensive research before going to a carribean medical school.
Here are some important facts.
1. Know the pros and cons first!
2. Research the medical schools very well!
3. If a school will accept your GPA only and ignore MCAT scores, you should be weary. That shows a low standard of acceptance. Which means they accept everyone and screen out poor candidates during the coursework which means if you fail out, you are stuck with thousands of dollars in debt!
4. Make sure the Medical school is properly accredited.
5. It could cost less or more depending on which schools you go to. Always add the cost of flying , etc.
6. It is very important that you go a school that has good affiliations with US hospitals what will allow you to rotate in your 3rd and 4th year of medical school.
7. Visit the schools before committing to go there. Talk to the students.
8. IMPORTANT: MATCHING INTO YOUR RESIDENCY OF CHOICE is the most important part of your medical career. Matching into residency is getting tougher yearly as
students are raising the bar and doing exceptionally well on the USMLE exam. If you decide to go the Caribbean islands, you must be willing to work 3 times as hard when it comes to matching into residency. It is not going to be an easy process. Few students match into TOP medical and surgical specialty in the US and if you want to go into the EROADS specialties *Emergency medicine/Ear, nose and throat surgery, radiology, ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Dermatology and surgery”, you must be an exceptional student but it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE.
